Petri Turner is a wife, mother of three, and retired Verizon employee who is embarking on her dream career as a writer.  She is a long-time resident of Brockton and frequent host and contributor to the Brockton Public Library Poetry Series.

Even a favorite song
Changes melody

You just flicked away
The remains of my being
You had not consumed

This empty feeling
Has become so familiar
It echoes my name

I apologize
For being the result of
A choice you regret
